Volkswagen New "ID.BUZZ" Prototype EV minivan adopted by sliding door
Expected electric minivans for autonomous driving functions
Volkswagen has released a prototype with a camouflage on the new EV ID.Buzz (ID. Buzz).
ID.Buzz, which is scheduled to be released in Europe in late 2022, is the fourth Volkswagen EV -only model following ID.3, ID.4, and ID.5.
For the first time as an ID model, both passenger and commercial vehicles will be available, and will be produced at a Volkswagen commercial vehicle factory in Hannover, Germany from the beginning of next year.
The ID.Buzz, based on the Volkswagen EV platform "Meb", includes two models, a standard wheelbase and a long wheelbase. Both models have various seat layouts and interior configurations.
Volkswagen stakeholders tell AutoCar that it uses a square shape than the original concept model, which is to secure the maximum interior space.
In addition, many of the styling elements seen in the concept are tone down, making it clean and unnatural.
This time, in the photos released by Volkswagen, the point of the exterior design is the square headlights placed around the front. This headlight is connected with a light bar that passes through the "VW" badge, which is widely arranged on the hood.At the bottom, there is a full -wide grille similar to the concept model.
The front has two conventional hinge -type doors and two sliding doors on the rear.Although technical details have not yet been announced, the configuration of drive train and battery is expected to be common to other ID models.
ID.Buzzz is said to play an important role in Automatic Driving Technology in which Volkswagen is working with Automatic Development Company Argo AI.After the release in 2022, it will be equipped with a level 2 semi -automatic driving function as seen in other MEB -based models, but Volkswagen is aiming to introduce level 4 functions in 2025.
MOIA, a brother company of Volkswagen Group, has announced that it will be the first company to use the autonomous driving function to be realized in ID.Buzz.
