Sujitaro Tamabukuro-Men's portrait watch selection (Power Watch Vol.114) | Watch LIFE NEWS | Watch news site for enjoying watch life

The Casio G-SHOCK shines on the arm of Sujitaro Tamabukuro, who has many location programs. Did you know that he actually uses three different colors when checking the program?

"Three years ago, I received silver from a fan, and after that I bought gold for myself. Now I have black and I'm rotating those three. It's like rock-paper-scissors at Sazae-san's ending. So, I thought it would be nice if people could enjoy things like 'Ah, it's gold today,' but today is the third person to point it out, so surprisingly, no one has noticed."

As a townsperson who grew up in Nishi-Shinjuku, he is sensitive to trends. It is said that she has been conscious of her watch since she was in elementary school.

"When we were in elementary school, digital watches had just come out, and Citizen had a model with 'five ringing functions' that sounded with alarms and time signals. I think it was 32,000 yen. But it was my first watch when my parents bought it for me.All my friends were wearing digital watches like that and showing off to each other.Silver Wave was popular with Seiko. When my mother was young I used to work at a Citizen factory in Takadanobaba, so I'm somewhat of a Citizen faction. At first, the Digiana was silver, but later it came out in gold.Generally, elementary school students don't wear gold watches. But for some reason the construction worker's son bought it, and everyone said, 'Are you an old man! (laughs) When I was in high school, I had a Seiko watch with a memo function that I could use to enter text. (laughs)”

In everyday life, he is punctual. He has an impatient personality and is never late.

"I don't like to appear on the show at the last minute, so I usually enter the set about an hour and a half early. All the clocks in my house are about 10 minutes ahead. There are a lot of people in KAI who sell themselves as loose on time.I think the only person I got along well with was Shigeru Kajiwara. There is also a sushi restaurant in the Haneda Airport terminal that I often go to. But the clock there is always about 15 minutes ahead, because some people miss their planes at the last minute. That's the only sushi restaurant in Japan with a time difference (laughs)."
