How much does it cost to maintain the first-generation Roadster, which has stepped into the realm of old cars!?
1990 Eunos Roadster V Special
The author's favorite 1990 Eunos Roadster V Special (NA6 type, hereinafter Roadster) has a green body with a Nardi steering wheel, shift knob, and tan interior. At the time of its release, it was a popular model and you may think of it when you imagine the first generation Roadster. Depending on the model, genuine parts for cars of this model year may be discontinued, and it may be difficult to maintain. In order to grasp how much it has cost so far, I would like to look back on the theme of maintenance costs, although it is rough. [Image] How much will the roadster deteriorate after 20 years? The first 10 years after a new car won't cost much to worry about
First of all, the first 10 years after a new car won't cost much. Of course, apart from tires, if you replace consumables such as oil and coolant for the engine, transmission, differential, etc. at each vehicle inspection, you won't have to spend extra on maintenance. The problem is around 10 years and 100,000 km. "First of all, it costs money to replace the water pump and belt in the engine. Roughly, you should look at the normal vehicle inspection cost plus about 100,000 yen. By the way, when I ran about 80,000 km, a dealer mechanic who was indebted to me said, ``If you don't know how many more years you will ride because you haven't run that far, there is a way to replace it with a rebuilt product after a problem occurs. I don't think you need to change it until 100,000 km." After all, when it was just before 100,000 km, I changed various things.
We recommend the semi-shield type, which is low-cost and has a degree of freedom in mounting parts.
The headlight is a unit exchange type called a round shield beam (light bulb and headlight are integrated). It was standard equipment, but I replaced it with a semi-shielded type. The price is reasonable with 10,000 yen or less for left and right, and you can choose your favorite headlight bulb. Also, the Roadster tends to break valves easily, probably because it vibrates a lot. It was correct to replace it with a semi-sealed type that can be replaced with a cheap valve that can be ruined immediately. It is very helpful because it can be easily replaced by DIY, but there is no end to worry about how long the H4 bulb will be on sale in the current era of LEDs. In the past, many manufacturers in Japan used similar shield beams, but they are now rare. Semi-shield type headlights can be obtained at reasonable prices online, so why not try excluding online shopping sites?
