Ryo Omasa of Matsuyama University won the Sports Climbing Japan Cup held on the 6th and became the best in Japan.
Omasa, who graduated from Toon High School and is a first-year student at Matsuyama University, is a hopeful Japanese record holder for speed.
Omasa marked 5 seconds 79, approaching the Japanese record in the Japan Cup qualifying held on the 6th.
In the final, he won the auction against his opponent and became the best in Japan.
Ryo Omasa: "My main goals for this tournament were to win the championship and to break into the 5-second range in the official (tournament), so I was able to clear both of those goals, so I'm really happy. it's the best"
