帰省は特別な手土産と一緒に――。Amazonは13日、スマートディスプレイ「Echo Show」専門のポップアップショップ『BEYOND THE DISTANCE』を、年末の帰省シーズンとなる26日と27日の2日間限定で、東京駅改札内のイベントスペースで開催すると発表した。　ポップアップショップイメージ（左）、限定パッケージセット　イメージ（右）

　ポップアップショップでは、スマートディスプレイ「Echo Show 5」と「Echo Show 8」の各2台がセットになった手土産仕様の「限定パッケージ」を、数量限定で販売。帰省時に手土産としてデバイスを持ち帰り、1台は家族に、もう1台は自宅に設置することで、遠く離れた家族と気軽にビデオ通話ができる――。そんな暮らしのサポートをしたいとオープンを決めた。　ポップアップショップは、JR東京駅構内の地下1階改札内イベントスペース「SQUARE ZERO」で26、27日11:00～20:00。『BEYOND THE DISTANCE』限定パッケージとして、「Echo Show 5」の2台セットで8980円（税込）。「Echo Show 8」の2台セットで1万4980円（税込）。これらのデバイスのほか、帰省時に欠かせない手土産の定番であるお菓子が購入できるスペースも設けるという。　「Echo Show 5」

　Echo Show 5は、5.5インチのディスプレイ。前世代に比べ画素数が2倍にアップしたHDカメラとカメラカバーを搭載、ベッドサイドやデスクなどに置いてビデオ通話をしたり、キッチンに呼びかけて様子を確認したりするのに最適。Echo Show 8や10と同様に、外出先からAlexaアプリで内蔵カメラに安全にアクセスすることができ、部屋の様子の確認もできる　Echo Show 8は、8インチのHDディスプレイで、パワフルな13メガピクセルのカメラを搭載。バランスの取れたサウンドを実現するデュアルステレオスピーカーとオクタコアプロセッサを搭載し、自動フレーミング機能付きの広角カメラで、ビデオ通話中は自分を相手の画面の中心に表示する。Echo Show 5や10と同様に、グループ通話を行うこともできる。　Amazonは現在、遠く離れた家族とのコミュニケーションをテーマにした、The original video "Amazon Echo Beyond The Distance Distance is exceeded" is being releasedだ。Amazonは今後も、Echoシリーズや音声アシスタントのAlexaを通じて、ユーザーの毎日の生活をより便利で快適なものにできるよう、さらなるイノベーションに取り組んでいきたいとしている。　■『オリジナル動画』　https://youtu.be/XcG5StmTpDw
